  2022 A to Z Tour Blog With the threat of scattered showers and/or worse, Alan and Terry Aubin, the A’s and Tom and Beth, the Zs, were not to be deterred from continuing our annual hot dog tour. This is our 7thyear coordinated by Alan, the master planner. The week prior to the trip, Alan sent out facts about hot dogs and buns. Terry added comical comments and her favorite, emoji’s. Beth replied with jokes and Tom gave us all nicknames: “All in” Alan, Battling Beth, Two-footer Terry, and Tommy Jaws. We decided that Alan Best in Show will be the planner and program designer for all future tours since he does an outstanding job. Whew, I’m off the hook! Our first eatery was Best in Show in N. HOT DOG TOUR RESUMES  AFTER A ONE YEAR HIATUS IN 2020 DUE  TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC With Covid-19 still causing havoc and tragedy in people's lives, we cautiously took to the road for our 6th hot dog tour. This is being written from memory on 7/8/2022 because I didn't have it recorded in our hot dog binder. However, my memory is still operating at 85% capacity so this should be a pretty good summary. LOU Tom would say differently about my memory but what does he know? Beth organized this hot dog tour and an executive decision was made on 6/18/2022, that Alan does such a fantastic job (as you will read in the 2022 summary), that henceforth, he will be the hot dog tour planner. Anticipation was building as we awaited the fifth annual A to Z hot dog tour with Terry and Alan. It was Alan's turn to plan this event and he had been telling us it was going to be grrrrreat! Okay, Tony, the Tiger! What also made this year special, it was also Terry's 53rd or if you are dyslexic, 35th birthday. We like the dyslexic reference because that would make Tom and I 26!!!  Our chariot arrived at 9:30 when Terry and Alan arrived with two special bags. Inside were "happy"tizers of Slim Jims and two sugar cookies decorated as hotdogs. We supplied a gummy package of hotdogs, hamburgers, sour gummy fries and pizza gummy. June 30, 2018 I know it's cliché but where does the time go? When you're enjoying one of America's favorite food, the hot dog, and doing it with favorite friends: time passes all too quickly. Today's tour was postponed due to Dad having an attack of angina brought on by unnecessary but Clark style worrying. He needs to eat more hotdogs! Anyway, this was the year for the Zela zos to plan. After researching and looking at maps for driving time, Beth decided on New Bedford, Fail River, Cranston RI and back home to Crazy Jakes in Wilbraham, Setting out about 9:30 we vet e off with Betsy (Tom's GPS girlfriend) showing us the way. The Sunday Parade reported Americans eat some 7 billion hot dogs every summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Well, I don’t think we’ll come close to 7 billion this year, but we usually add double digits to this count.   It’s said, good things come in threes, so this being our third annual hot dog tour with Terry and Alan, we are hopeful not to be disappointed. It was Alan’s turn to map out our tour which was in the state of CT.  Top Dog Starting out from Ludlow on a rather overcast morning, we headed to our first stop of Top Dog in Portland, Ct. See itinerary. The couple who own and operate Top Dog were very friendly and commented on our hot dog shirts which we were all wearing. June 18, 2016  Tom and I Wearing our official hot dog tour hot dog tour. joined Alan and Terry in our 2™ annual hot dog tour! First hot dog stop was Tom's Famous Long Hot Dogs.  Alan chose a bacon Mexican cheese and roasted red pepper long dog Tom desired the same.  Terry loves her pizza and found the perfect dog, called Old Tom's favorite Dog, topped with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. The rolls were not grilled.  went with a kraut dog and mustard.  We accompanied these meaty delights, which we think were Blue Seal, onion rings and soda. Our next stop was the town of Shelburne Falls where they were having a River Fest with street sales and information about the area. We walked the Bridge of Flowers which was in full bloom and marveled at the handiwork of those who care for it. 1st Annual Hot Dog Tour with the friends  yesterday. Will now be an annual event. Itinerary provided by Alan included:  Hotdog Annie's in Leicester, established 1949, Hot Dog Annies The Dogfather 84 Holden St, Worcester (Extreme hotdog truck),  The Dog Father Coney Island founded in 1918 downtown Worcester;  last stop  Aubins where we consumed Wardynski hotdogs from Buffalo, NY. 25 hotdogs consumed including, the basic dog; grilled bun,mustard, onions; Don Corleone's Revenge which consisted of homemade chili, diced onions and horseradish; The Capone red/green peppers, melted cheese, bacon bits; Dogzilla two dogs, no buns, shredded chili, mustard, diced onion, Andy Capp hotfries, wrapped ina tortilla and grilled., Buffalo Bill, just made that up, Wardynski dog with warm kraut mixed with Ketchup, grilled to splitting in a grill toasted bun.
